Tempo setting not exporting to MIDI file

• May 21, 2024 - 15:25

I am working on a score at 110bpm and I have the tempo set to 110 to the quarter note. I want export the MIDI file and import it into my DAW (Acoustica Mixcraft v10.5). I have the Mixcraft software set up for 110 bpm. I import the MIDI file into Mixcraft, but it appears that the MIDI file comes in a 120bpm. (The other tracks I have in Mixcraft are all at 110bpm - drums, bass, guitar.)

I am using Musescore 3 normally. I opened the file in Musescore 4 and followed the same process with the same results. I cannot find any way to export the MIDI file from Musescore at the correct tempo. I have attached the Musescore file and the MIDI file exported from Musescore.

NEVER MIND! I THINK I HAVE FOUND THE PROBLEM AND IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MUSESCORE. ARCHIVE THIS TICKET PLEASE.

To clarify: I have recorded tracks for a rhythm section using Band In A Box. The rhythm section is playing at 110bpm. I have imported the rhythm section tracks into Mixcraft. Now I want to add horn parts written out in Musescore by exporting the horn parts as a MIDI file and importing the MIDI file into Mixcraft. The import works fine, EXCEPT the horn parts seem to be playing at 120bpm and not 110bpm as I have the tempo marked in Musescore. The horn parts starts correctly and in time with the rhythm section tracks, but starts to get ahead of the rhythm section within the first several bars and by the end of the song (about 2 and a half minutes), it's way off. The horn section tracks finish playing well before the rhythm section reaches the end of the song. Hope this additional information is helpful.

Without your software and other files, I can't reproduce your problem. The closest I can come is this:
I exported to mp3 one of my files at 45 bpm. Then exported to midi the same file. I loaded them into Audacity and they both played at the same tempo. Not much help, though
