Having trouble decreasing stretch

I'm trying to make some short exercises to put on flash cards I can use to try to memorize which parts of triads can be played on my bebop-tuned chromatic harmonica. I started fine, but all of a sudden I can't decrease the stretch on further sections. I don't understand what's going on and would appreciate help!
