Stem offset not preserved on read

Ubuntu Studio 14.04, GIT commit: e2a6fbd

1) new score
2) add a quarter note
3) click notehead, use Inspector / Element / Horizontal offset to move notehead
4) click stem, use Inspector / Element / Horizontal offset to move stem by same amount
5) save, close, reload

Result: notehead is in its moved position, but stem has reverted to original position

The MSCX shows the offset was saved, so it's a read issue not a write issue I guess.
