How to connect more than one note at the same time?

Tagged:

I have tried ctrl+S, but every time I did it on the second note, the first slur at the first note just disappeared. How can I "slur" several notes together?
Thank for your advice, Matt.

Key Finding Algorithm

Tagged:

I notice that Musescore uses three profiles in key finding, the CBMS profile, the Bayesian profile and Krumhansl's profile.

I wish to know if the Bayesian profile is the one proposed by Temperley: http://homepage.psy.utexas.edu/homepage/class/psy341k/gilden/Readings/te...

keyFinder.cpp

CBMS profiles:

major_profile = 5.0 2.0 3.5 2.0 4.5 4.0 2.0 4.5 2.0 3.5 1.5 4.0
minor_profile = 5.0 2.0 3.5 4.5 2.0 4.0 2.0 4.5 3.5 2.0 1.5 4.0

Bayesian profiles (based on frequencies in Kostka-Payne corpus):Read more

Tips on how to deal with disgruntled users

I just read a post on Chris Ilias’ blog that has some useful information for how we can better help users who come to the forums and issue tracker. The blog post was written with Mozilla Firefox in mind, but everything he says could also apply to MuseScore.

MuseScore Google blurb

This isn't documentation per se, but this seemed a good place to post it.

When you Google musescore, you see:

> Create, playback and print beautiful sheet music with free and easy to use
> music notation software MuseScore. For Windows, Mac and Linux.

That should be play back (two words). playback (one word) is a noun. (E.g.: "Now we'll hear the playback.")

This is the first official reference to MuseScore that most people see, so I thought it was worth mentioning.

How Musescore works?

Tagged:

I'm a Computer Science student from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. And now I'm doing a music related project in which I use Musescore to convert midi files into MusicXML. To ensure the validy of the project, I wish to know how Musescore does the conversion and what algorithms it is using. Is there any documentation I can refer to?

Rehearsal Marks and Measure Numbering

Tagged:

I was having the most difficult time trying to figure out how to have a score, or part, that had every measure numbered and rehearsal markings throughout. The problem I was having was that I could not remove a single measure number and insert a rehearsal mark. The result would end up with a rehearsal mark laid over the measure number, but that just looked wrong.Read more
