Using ".midi" files

Forgive my ignorance, but how do I open a ".midi" file. I can open ".mid" files. Is there a free conversion program?

I think it's the same. Just remove the last i in the filename and you should be able to open it.
Is .midi a spread extension? Where did you get the file from?
Maybe we should consider adding *.midi in file->open?

Thanks, That seemed to work. I don't know which programs export or save in the ".midi" format ,but they are all over the place (many are on the free sheet music sites). Adding a ".midi" extension to the open file dialog would be helpful.
