A professional musician friend who is trying out MuseScore brought these questions to me: Why can't the program beam notes across measure lines? Is this a design shortcoming or just a bug? The attachment is from a Schirmer edition of Debussy's Sarabande (1891). Notice the beaming in the fourth measure down.
