select, press Del or 0 (zero)

I want to do this in batch, and in v4 I find I can select a range and press the rest button on the tool bar to toggle all notes in the range to rests; pressing 0 on the keyboard however only changes the first note to a rest. I notice that in the popup hint for the rest button 0 is not shown as a shortcut, so I wonder if there is a known reason for this deviation in behavior.
