2 problems:
1) Whenever I want to create a new score and go into General - Choose Instruments no instruments appear???? HELP!!!!!
2) My page preference of portrait never stays my preference it always goes back to landscape what can I do?
Please help me I need Musescore for school and everything changed after the New update!!!!!!

If you go to Edit / Preferences / Score, did you perhaps override the default instrument list? It should be ":/data/instruments.xml".
As for page preference, how did you set that? MuseScore doesn't provide any sich direct mechanism, it instead gets your default page size from your default printer's default paper size. But it does allow you to specific custom settings in that same dialog, by specifying an MSS file in "Style" and "Style for part". Is that what you did? You may need to update your style file to 3.6. Hmm, maybe that/s also the issue if you customized the instruments.xml file. Change the "3.01" to "3.02" in the "museScore version" line towards the top and see if that helps.

Thank you for the speedy response! The Instruments now work fine! I’m still a little confused on the page settings? It used to always automatically just be in portrait A4 but now it’s still horizontal

You mean for new scores you create? If you don't explicitly set that in your template or MSS file, then the default comes from your printer, so check the settings there.

I am so sorry I don't know hoe to change my page to A4 permanently.
Format > Page settings
And teach your default printer to use A4
To be clear: use whatever controls your computer or printed came with to change the default paper size for your printer to A4. It is not something you do within MsueScore but in controls provided by your computer or printer.
