The snap version of MuseScore is not supported here. Neither are the ones directly from the distibution, like the PPAs
Maybe someone other is using the snap package, but the snap package isn't official contributed by MuseScore (and probably you've to ask there). The official contributed version for Linux is the AppImage, better use this one.

Thanks. That is interesting...I had assumed the snap app was made available by musescore. See https://snapcraft.io/musescore.
I have found the installation procedure for Ubuntu 20.04 here, https://launchpad.net/~mscore-ubuntu/+archive/ubuntu/mscore-stable.
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mscore-ubuntu/mscore-stable
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install musescore

That isn't supported here either. Only the AppImage is.

Both the snap and distribution repositories are built by third parties, not by the development team here. When we say "not supported", what we mean is, they might happen to work - and indeed sometimes they do - but very often, something goes wrong. That's because the people who built them are usually not experts on how to build MuseScore, and they often get details wrong, leading to hard-to-diagnose problems. Plus, they are often several releases - if not several years - behind. That's why we go to the trouble of producing the AppImages ourselves.
To be honest, I have no idea how other projects manage to avoid these sorts of problems, maybe their build processes aren't so complex. And probably that's our fault. But anyhow, that's how things are. For best results with MuseScore on Linux, always start with the current AppImage.

After a short look at the snap website for MuseScore (as mentioned it's a third package for MuseScore, not directly supported), did you follow the advice in the section there to install some additional packages manually (beneath other about the network manager)? If so and it doesn't work, report it there (it looks like under "report this app" or "join the forum" at the bottom of the site would be the right place, but not the support forum of musescore.org).
But also as mentioned from me and other, I myself use always the latest AppImage version, you'll find here under Download, and it's the easiest way for me.
