An idea that will probably make you smile (or horrify): add a horizontal spacer

for those who prefer to adjust the measures width (without changing the general settings)

Interesting idea, although FWIW, my first thought was that this would add the equivalent of a horizontal frame - space between measures.

I've also thought about, and actually did a trial implementation of, a facility to allow dragging a barline sideway to adjust width. It worked, but didn't feel any better than imply adjusting stretch. The idea of being able to set the width of measure in absolute terms (eg, 25sp or whatever) seems more powerful to me. This would be simple enough to implement once there was agreement on what the user interface to this should be.

After a short discussion with myself: I'm not horrified ;-).

For me it makes sense. But maybe wait for other comments before adding a suggestion inside the issue tracker.

Excellent intuition ;-)
But he/she is not the only one asking this question.
For my few needs it is quite superfluous but I see that they are enough those who would like a less conventional notation although MuseScore allows a good flexibility and the use of a few tricks pending implementations.
