When pressing D on the keyboard to add D note, the note is instead the same as whatever is in front of it.

I can't reproduce.
Is this about addind D to a chord (in which case it'd be Shift+D), or when entering a new note (a single note chord)?
Is the D maybe (miss)used as a shortcut for "Repeat selection", instead of (or in addition to) the default shortcut R?
