Nepomuk Font Doesn't Display Lowercase

• Apr 21, 2025 - 01:34

I am trying to use the font Nepomuk (https://www.notationcentral.com/product/nepomuk/) from Notation Central in my scores. This font has lowercase letters in all styles:

When the file is used in Musescore, it displays as a Small Caps font, despite the normal font being selected

Can anyone help troubleshoot why this font isn't displaying normally?

Nepomuk source is over here: https://github.com/benwiggy/nepomuk/releases (OFL)
There is (was) a known problem on Windows for the regular variant. (it always worked with Linux)
https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/16188 (already fixed?)
Perhaps you can try the proposed workaround.
On Linux, both regular and small caps variants show up in the list. But, strangely enough, when both versions are installed, the SC version is always used, no matter which one is chosen.
The obvious remedy is to uninstall SC. (i do not use it anyway).
Perhaps related to https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/19785

I uninstalled the SC versions. This had the effect of removing Nepomuk (normal font) from the usable fonts in MuseScore. I also attempted the work around but I could not find where this launch option was meant to be pasted:

"--platform windows:fontengine=directwrite
after ‘C:\Program Files\MuseScore 4\bin\MuseScore4.exe’ in the properties of the Musescore shortcut on the desktop"
