Why does version 4 make each new piece open in a separate "program"?
I use a Mac, so I don't know how this is in Unix or Windows, but In Musescore 3 there was just one icon in the Doc and you could see what pieces you had open in the window menu (IIRC). You could compare them and easily copy from one to the other. In Muescore 4, each piece opens a separate icon with no label for every piece you open. I could open the same piece multiple times without knowing it, unless I click on, and open every icon that resides in the Doc. This makes it very difficult to compare different versions of a piece because you can't see the title and don't know what you have until you open that icon.
Why did they do this? It seems really clunky and inefficient.

What happens if you scroll over those icons. Windows 11 will display the score full screen so you can see what it is. Then go away as you move on. Or click on it to open.

I could use QuickLook to view a file by pressing the spacebar in the Finder, but not for open documents/applications in the Dock. Scrolling over the icons just says Musescore 4.
It is the same in Windows.
The developers did this because of the new sound engine. So it has technical reasons.

I'll take your word for it. I'll put up with it then. Can't beat the price and it is the best notation program I've used.
