Flag, tail and hook are synonyms. Elaine Gould prefers "tail".

Maybe yet another case of British English vs. American English.
MuseScore calls them hooks, internaly, SMuFL calls them flags.

Just as a possibly unimportant side issue. I find certain things in Gould to not quite agree with my American university music theory training. Not just language. I'm not saying one is better than the other. Or that one is right and the other wrong. Only that theory is just that. A record of how things have been done. And it changes over time,
You can move it to the right. Should you have to?
