Masking barlines not working 4.5.2

The feature of objects masking barlines described in this post [https://musescore.org/en/node/375072] doesn't seem to be working, despite the setting "Mask barlines when intersecting text" being turned on.

I am using MuseScore studio 4.5.2 on Windows 11. I don't know if this feature worked on 4.5 or 4.5.1. Maybe someone can verify that.

I perused github and the forum and I don't think anyone else has mentioned this. I hope I'm not posting a duplicate bug.

Actually I think I'm in the wrong here. Everything seems to be working fine. I thought this formatting applied to hairpins and dashes in lyrics.
