Musescore Evolution 3.7 Cross-Staff Notation Problem
OS: Windows 7 Version 6.1 (Build 7601: SP 1), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.7.0.14952198358
Cross staff notation with Musescore 3.7 produces a rather odd result
Same thing in Musescore 3.6.2 is correct (aside from a bit of manual repositioning)

Would be wonderful if you (or someone else) couzld find out since when that is the case

I'll try some older versions of 3.7

The oldest I have is
OS: Windows 7 Version 6.1 (Build 7601: SP 1), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.7.0.13258075422
That still has the problem.

Rather already than stil ;-)
But thanks!

Actually can you rell the commit SHA of these? Copy/Paste from the Help > About dialog's notice icon

Not ok in 3.7.0.1495,
Ok in 3.7.0.1449,
Not ok in 3.7.0.1325 ?
It depends from other things ...

Those numbers don't mean a thing to me :-(
I'd need commit SHAs

I don't know what SHAs is.
Besides, these were the abbreviations of the above.

SHAs are what's after the "revision:", directly points to the corresponding commit on GitHub
The long number after the version "3.7.0." is just noise basically, some GitHub CI internal build number

Thanks.
But you can see the SHAs in the post above. I've just abbreviated them so I don't have to write as much ...

Those ain't SHAs but build numbers (and you can't shorten SHAs to shorter than 7 digits)

Yes, it depends on the measures in this system. If they are too tight, there will be this error.

So it isn't OK with that commit you earlier claimed it to be OK with, right?
In reply to So it isn't OK with that… by Jojo-Schmitz
Yes, because it depends on the next thing: how densely compressed the measures are!

Seems to depend on if a note or rest proceeds the cross-staff.

I get
I can correct it by dragging the middle C to the right but it's still not positioned quite right to the following rest (too close).

It's as HildeK says, increase the width of the bar and it corrects itself. Almost as if the cross-staff isn't claiming it's required space.

You must not go so far with the Decrease Layout Stretch in the software that the two notes are on top of each other. This happens and because one stem points downwards and one upwards, there is an overlap.
You have to keep the beat ...

What I've shown above is with the default layout, no shrink.

The (or at least a) difference is: 3.6.2 (and 4.5.2) in that sample case fits 15 measures into a system, 3.7 fits 16 measures into one system

However, if you use system breaks, you must set them at least at measure 8 or 9!
At least in my environment and with this file and in 3.7.
You must give two consecutive notes a minimum interval of two eighths, even with cross staff notation, not zero!

So that 89bb902 is relatively recent, just a month ago, Much better than having to bisect some 1200 commits
But see furter up: this might not be it
