Suspended cymbal roll on part not crescendoing properly
Anyone have any ideas on what's happening here?
I'm arranging The Sorcerer's Apprentice for concert band, and I'm noticing an issue with the suspended cymbal part. When I have it do a roll and crescendo the first time, it crescendoes perfectly fine (mm. 288 - 293). Note that this part uses the "change instrument" text command in the "text" palette, and changes between suspended cymbal and crash cymbal, as per the demand of Dukas' original score. After this first crescendo in a suspended cymbal line, it switches over to crash cymbals, and when I switch it back to suspended cymbal for the next roll and crescendo (mm. 522 - 606), the roll starts off at pianissimo as intended, but fails to crescendo as needed the closer it gets to 606, even with the crescendo added. This seems to be a continuing trend with the rest of the piece, which is not finished yet.
Alternatively, I have noticed that in a separate score, Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium arranged for horn choir, I put the suspended cymbal and crash cymbal on separate parts, and everything holds up. So maybe the issue is that the rolls don’t always work as needed on a single part that uses the "change instrument" command, or maybe I'm just smol brain. Who knows! Any help with this would be sincerely appreciated. I added both a suspended cymbal test to show what I mean (TSA was too big a file) and my finished score of O Magnum for comparison. Thanks so much!

Something definitely wrong with the cymbal part. Listen to the roll starting at 288. It sounds nice and even. Now listen at 786. It sound like a locomotive chugging along. No idea how to fix it short of reentering everything. Enev then you have to double check everything.
Yeah I'm having this same problem with a front ensemble lot tune i'm writing. I have to change instruments from Marimba to suspended cymbal at various points for rolls but they never crescendo, it's basically just the attack and release. Don't know why Changing instrument would mess with dynamics, seems like a bug but idk. If anyone knows what might be going on here/how to fix it please lmk.
Update to this: I finally finished the piece, and I've split the cymbal part into both suspended cymbal and crash cymbal. Even when doing this, there seems to be the exact same problem. Going to make this an issue report to MuseHub regarding MuseSounds ASAP!

The issue is your use of "secco". When you use a sound flag, it stays in effect until it gets canceled. Not just for the note you put them on. So all the later symbol rolls don't get played properly. Delete them and see that things play properly.
