Shifting a group of notes left or right
If I want to move a group of notes left or right I have to cut and paste, which takes time and often results in me being frustrated at being unable to simply press a shortcut. Is there any other workaround or way to move them that's quicker and less infuriating? Or am I going to need to add a feature request?
For an example I want to move the selected notes to the end of the bar in this screenshot.
Also let me know if this is the wrong forum and which one the discussion should be posted in. Thanks!

What is so slow? From the situation in your picture CTRL+X, Right Arrow, CTRL+ V. Done!
Whatever method you might invent you need to a) indicate to musescore what you want to move; b) indicate where you want it to move to; c) trigger the move operation. Musescore requires the use of two short cuts for step c) but there are two options for the first shortcut CTRL+X moves the selected region leaving rests behind, CTRL+C copies the selected region. You could have dedicated single shortcuts for these so that you select the "source" region and the destination and press the MOVE button or the COPY button, but is the saving of one (double) key press really going to save you enough time to make an extra cup coffee?

Cutting it then pressing the right arrow places the selection on the last eighth rest and pasting there puts it on there, with half of the notes on the next bar. I know what you mean, but it gets really frustrating with the amount of key presses to not only select cut and paste, but also to get the position correct. Maybe it's just me, but it is quite annoying.

Or use the mouse
1. Select the "source"
2. Right click
3. Cut
4. Select the destination
5. Right click
6. Paste
Steps 1 and 4 have to be done somehow.
And, it seems that if you hold ALT and SHIFT you can drag a range selection to another location. See https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/27336
But it seems to be not yet documented in the handbook. Having just experimented I find it less easy to select the "landing zone" than a simple click before CTRL_V - old dogs, new tricks no doubt.
