MIDI export

• May 14, 2025 - 09:47

When exporting a classic organ score (3 scores), I select the choice to have 3 different MIDI files.
As a result, voices 2&3 are correct, but the voice 1 has all voices into. How can I correct that?

I would like to use Aeolus sounds, via MIDI, and from Musescore. Between, I use different MIDI processes to correct the MIDI file, add the voice changes, etc. If you have any idea…

Thank you. Alain (France)

I thought the same thing, but there is always something that doesn't work: it is not possible to export the 3 staves of the organ (which are linked) as separate midi files. Unless you copy each organ staff into other instruments with independent staves. Is this what the OP did? Did you use another program or a version of Musescore where this was possible? Without clarification it is impossible to understand what we are talking about.

The idea is finally to feed “Aeolus“ with 3 MIDI channels, and so have different organ sounds during the piece of music, and for each staff.

There is only one midi file, but each staff has its own midi channel. If you want to have a separate midi file for each channel, you can use some freeware midi management program, or create a copy of your score made with musescore for example with a violin and two double basses, and copy the 3 organ staves into these three instruments. At this point you can save 3 separate midi files; MuseScore works like this.

We have to use only one instance of Aeolus, if we have a MIDI with 3 ports (channels), one for each staff.
This is possible because in Aeolus, we can connect each keyboard to a certain channel.

Up to now, that works. What I have to do now is to record all staffs in a sequencer for instance (I use one in VCV Rack), and add commands (MIDI messages) to shift Aeolus’ sequencer (to shift organ sounds).

It’s difficult to describe for me, I can make a short video to show how it works… Alain
