Open guitar tuning
I'm a novice musescore user, and I'm having problems getting the guitar piece I'm transcribing to play correctly. I don't really need the playback and I'm not having much trouble adding notes, but I'd like to have it play back accurately just the same to quickly check my work.
The piece I'm transcribing has an open C tuning with the E (6th) string tuned to low C. I've set up 3 staves for the piece: first the standard treble clef, below ta I play it back, it's not interpreting the low C and instead it plays some weird interval. I've tried re-applying the open tuning and applying to all 3 staves, but it hasn't made any difference. Also, the tablature keeps changing for measures where I haven't changed any of the notes.

Whoa, where did those typos come from? It should read ".....: first the standard treble clef, below that a bass clef for the low C, and below that the tablature. When I play it back, (and the rest is correct).

See if you can open this and paste in your notation into the treble staff (the TAB staff is linked).

No problem with the low C.

Thanks, but I don't have enough experience with the software to do anything with this. Still, I forgot to mention that the notehead for the low C displays on the staff as orange instead of black. Can someone tell me what that means?

It is out of the range for that instrument.

If you're referring to the Guitar Template score I posted for you, just download and open it in MuseScore 3 or 4 and try it out. Add some notes, or copy/paste from your score.

I adjusted Staff Properties>Usable Pitch Range to include the low C, so if you use this score as a starting point you won't encounter the Orange "out of range" rectangles. But that is strictly a notational safeguard. There's also a chance that some guitar libraries don't go as low as C, but the three I tested and reported on do go as low as C below the low E string.
If you want to attach your score, a partial score, or an empty version of it, I can probably get it working and post it for you with some commentary. From your description it sounds like there may be an easier path that the one you've been pursuing.
