How to notate pedal steel guitar (country style)

• May 24, 2025 - 01:44

Does an instrument option for pedal steel guitar exist? If so, how do I notate pedal steel guitar on MuseScore? If not, I would like one added ASAP, please. I've got the idea for a country-style song in my head, but it'll remain stuck as an idea unless this obstacle can be overcome. No substitutes. It won't sound right without that specific instrument.

As an added note, are there any pedal steel guitar sounds available on MuseHub, free or otherwise? And if it's paid, how much? Thanks in advance.

I don't know about a pedal steel sound. However, an electric guitar with lots of bending would sound similar (vaguely, at least) to a pedal steel. It wouldn't sound right, but it would give you SOMETHING to get your idea down on paper.

Yes, type "pedal"or only "ped" in the search box when creating a new score, see:

Yes always, in Muse Guitars Vol. 2, see image below. The cost is around 10$.

If you decide to use the steel guitar in Muse Guitars Vol. 2 I'd love to know how it turns out. I have the Muse Guitars Vol. 2 library but have mainly used the mandolin.
