vocal part plays a bass sound as well as whatever sound I choose

• May 24, 2025 - 18:11

I imported 3 midi tracks into Musescore. What a mess. It puts everything on piano clef (bass and treble). My main problem is I cannot get rid of the bass sound in the vocal. I've tried switching instruments several times, but always the bass sound is there too.

I just figured out why the bass was sounding. Musescore always plays instruments in Logic Pro, if it is open. I wish it wouldn't. I don't know how to stop it. It is really annoying.
About the other problems. I wish the heck I could just delete half of a piano clef, but it seems I can't. I can hide it though. I created a new instrument for the vocal in order to get it off of a piano staff.
Thank you in advance.

Midi is always going to ....be a problem. In your score I see viola, organ, and piano. Not sure how MuseScore could play something from Logic. Do you have Exclusive mode turned off?
Create a single staff for the organ and and copy into it. Delete the old organ.

I'm really not sure what your overall problem is about, but you definitely can delete half of a piano staff.

Open the Layout panel (Instruments panel, pre 4.5; yellow highlight). Find the "Piano" instrument and click the small triangle to its left (blue highlight) to display the treble and bass clefs. Select the clef you want to delete (the bass clef in my example, orange highlight). Click the trash can button (blue highlight) at the upper right to delete the selected staff.
