continuous page scroll instead of jumping

How do I do a continuous horizontal scroll where the page moves and the pointer does not move to the edge and then the page jumps

I don't believe that is possible in MuseScore Studio.

In the MuseScore app for Android (and I would presume in the equivalent app for Apple mobile devices), in Settings, you will see "Single Line mode", in which the part is scrolled across the screen as a single line. I can't say I've used it in anger myself though, so I don't know how it handles repeats and jumps etc,. To use the app to view your score you'll need to save it to the MuseScore cloud first, if you haven't already.

For any help with MuseScore cloud and apps, you'll need to go to musescore.com (this forum here is on musescore.org which is for the free and open-source application MuseScore Studio.)

Thanks. I confess I had forgotten about the view options just to the left of the zoom buttons on the bottom right of the screen.

Just tinkering with it now, it seems the smooth panning option only applies to "Continuous view (horizontal)", not to "Continuous view". Unless I've missed something else of course, which is entirely possible.

For parts having only one or two staves I can see that vertical smooth scrolling could be made to work. After all, it's a feature in LinkeSoft's SongBook application (albeit for ChordPro style lyrics/chords), and I think is possible in ForScore too if I remember rightly.
