Is this recoverable?
Hello!
I tried opening this MuseScore file I'd been working on; MuseScore told me it can't open the file because it is corrupted. I don't remember how this could have happened!
I tried opening the autosaved file by deleting the '~' at the end of the file name, but MuseScore told me this is also corrupted and can't be opened. I looked in any local MuseScore 4 folders in my drive, and I couldn't find any other versions of this file. I've also tried extracting the autosaved file (which I saw suggested somewhere), but WinRaR says there's nothing to extract.
Is there anyone who can figure out if there's a way to get the file back or if it's unsalvageable? I normally back-up all my files on another hard drive, but the last time I did this was before the creation of this current piece.
God bless,
John

Unfortunately this file is not recoverable!
It consists only of about 86k of bytes with the value zero.
The following How Tos have information on where MuseScore Studio stores backup files. This might help. Good luck!
How to recover a backup copy of a score
How to recover a backup copy of a score (1.x)
Going forward, the following thread post describes @yonah_ag's folder structure (and now, mine, too) for file versioning. This might help if the problem arises in the future. (Sadly, if you're not already doing it, it cannot help NOW.)
