Eighth note beams disappear for no reason?
For some reason, whenever I edit anything with eighth notes in it, the beam disappears for seemingly no reason. I have not changed the beaming settings, but changing them and the undoing the change puts the beam back. However, this can be very tedious, and might be the last straw for this software before I just buy Dorico (it was this and hundreds of crashes and bugs that sparked this decision).

I have encountered a similar situation, especially on large scores. Moving the note up or down and back again does the trick for me, but you're right: this should not be happening.
.Which version are you using? We're currently at version 4.5.2 (this is important to specify because I remember something similar happening in Continuous View, in slightly older versions)
And if you're using the most recent version, it would be relevant to attach the .mscz file itself, rather than an image, for investigation (in order to understand what is happening and to be able to fix it)

I use 4.5.2, and I was under the impression that there was a 4.5.3 that came out and I ended up just feeling like an idiot when I kept hitting "Check for updates" and nothing would show.

I have loaded your score and I see no problem. The beams are OK. I work with MuseScore 4.5.2 and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Which OS are You using?. Maybe the problems has to do with the Windows Version.
