Crash on XML open attempt
Trying to open a fairly big XML file (Scheherazade, Op. 35) and it just wont open! Is a PDF scanned and edited in soundslice and exported into Music XML, have done this with several other smaller scores, and no issue. The program sees the XML file, loads for a second, and then just gives up and crashes. If there is anything i can do please let me know. Is the file too big? I dont understand its problem. I have done a MIDI import but its so full of errors i dont know what to do!

I can confirm the crash.
It is because of dereferencing a
nullptr
inlayoutArticulations3()
in chord.cpp (at least it is in my MuseScore 3.7 Evolution, it does crash in 3.6.2, 3.7. 4.5.2 and in the latest development build)Fixing it there doesn't help, then it crashes at another place.

is there anything you suggest i can do? i really need to process this music in musescore to be able to export it into a pdf in a new arrangement to deal with a vision issue. would maybe breaking it down into the smaller movements help? i could also maybe export it as a pdf and try the new pdf conversion direct into musescore rather than use the original physical score?

Fixing that other place too and I could load the mxl, it reports corruptions though:
Measure 965, staff 1 incomplete. Expected: 46/128; Found: 42/112
Measure 965, staff 2 incomplete. Expected: 46/128; Found: 5/14
Measure 965, staff 3 incomplete. Expected: 46/128; Found: 5/14
Measure 1166, staff 1 incomplete. Expected: 19/128; Found: 7/28
Measure 1459, staff 1 incomplete. Expected: 27/128; Found: 6/24
Measure 1459, staff 2 incomplete. Expected: 27/128; Found: 5/24
Measure 1459, staff 3 incomplete. Expected: 27/128; Found: 5/24
And then crashed on close...
But here's the mscz
reports corruptions too , but less:
Measure 965, staff 1 incomplete. Expected: 46/128; Found: 42/112
Measure 1166, staff 1 incomplete. Expected: 19/128; Found: 7/28
Measure 1459, staff 1 incomplete. Expected: 27/128; Found: 6/24

thank you! i will try work through it. the original score has some wild bars that dont add up so im not shocked that musescore is mad about it.

Hi Jojo,
I just wanted to say thank you for your help! The version you made has worked a treat. It has lots of timing issues but im blaming the composer for many of them. Thank you for your assistance, ive been able to edit the score and the file is saving and allowing for follow up edits without crashing.
