Window control bar not showing or in effect when on secondary screen in Windows 11

• Jun 19, 2025 - 04:37

Hi!

I'd like to report an issue that MuseScore window cannot get dragged once fullscreen on a secondary screen/monitor.

Both screenshots uploaded, as you can see the WIndows title bar is missing if I go fullscreen on a secondary monitor.

To be honest I'm surprised you can see the window control bar when on the primary monitor, as my experience is that full screen mode will hide it. To exit full screen mode, press F11.

That said, it's possible the windows control bar is there, but off the top of the screen and therefore not visible. In that event (as with any window, not just MuseScore), you can press Alt+spacebar to bring up the window control menu, from which you can then select Move, and move the window using the arrow keys or mouse.

It looks like many of the issues with window display on multiple monitors in Windows should be fixed in the upcoming version 4.6: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/27398 Many thanks to Eism for developing the fix, SilverGreen93 for testing and everyone else involved. It'll no doubt help me a lot.
