Playback with tremolo

• Jun 24, 2025 - 21:21

I was transcribing a baroque violin Sonata by Kindermann. At one point the IMSLP original was marked "tremolo" for both the solo violin and the basso continuo. The Text palette has a Tremulo, which I used. During a playback of the music, once the tremolo began, the entire rest of the piece was played back tremolo. Is there a way of marking the end of that articulation?

Hmm, the text palette tremolo has no playback effect for me. But if it works in the same way that pizzicato works, there is another text value that ends the effect. In the same way that arco ends the pizzicato effect.

There is a Tremolos palette. You might try that instead.

Interesting that the text palette tremolo has no effect for you. I took your advice and switched to the Tremolo's palette and that solved my problem - the playback effect occurred only on those notes so marked. I wonder how musicians played that in Kindermann's time.
