Two Row Diatonic Accordion Fingering

Develeped with Musescore 1.3.Compatibility with other versions unknown.
This plugin pruduces fingering for two row diatonic accordions. Suitable for folk tunes with a single note melody line. The plugin may be run in single or two row modes. The two row mode will take bellows direction into account as suggested by any chord symbols present. Compatible with accordians in the style of the Hohner Erica and Pokerwork varieties with accidentals. Suitable for one row varieties as well if run with the "strict one row" setting.

Fingering Text Styles

Just a quick note on the two fingering styles selectable from the dialog.

  1. The third button (root) is "1". buttons before "1" are representes as "1|" and "2|". the equals sign "=" represents bellows out. On a C Box a C scale would look as follows 1 =1 2 =2 3 =3 =4 4
  2. Normal Hohner style fingering where the first button is "1" and bellows going out is represented with a single apostraphy " ' ". On a C Box a C scale would look like this 3 3' 4 4' 5 5' 6' 6

For Best Results

  • Make sure to choose the right (as determined by the key of score) accordion from the dropdown menu or transpose the score to match your accordion.
  • Increase system space and measure spacing to allow enough room for the fingering text.
  • Choose your preferred row from the dialog box if you know which row you prefer. However the auto setting will choose an appropriate row in most cases.

I hope it's useful!
