MIDI Input Behavior in MuseScore 4 vs. MuseScore 3
Hello,
I’ve been using MuseScore 3 until recently, and have now switched to MuseScore 4 with the latest updates.
I have a question regarding MIDI input behavior.
In MuseScore 3, when I played on my MIDI keyboard without pressing the “N” (note input) button, it would only play the sound without entering any notes into the score. This was very convenient during arranging, as I could test ideas without affecting the score.
However, in MuseScore 4, notes are automatically added to the score as soon as I press a key on the MIDI keyboard — even when I haven’t entered note input mode. This is causing a lot of inconvenience during my workflow.
Is there a way to change this behavior so that notes are only entered after I explicitly enter note input mode (by pressing “N”)? I would really appreciate any guidance or settings you can suggest.
Thank you very much for your help!
Best regards,
