How to merge/combine/implode two staves into one with two voices

If you require more space for your score, you could merge two staves into one.
  1. Select the first staff by clicking on the first note or rest and shift-click on the last one.
  2. Go to Edit→Voices→Exchange Voice 1-2.
  3. Select the second staff by clicking on the first note or rest and shift-click on the last one.
  4. Edit→Copy.
  5. Select the first rest of voice 1 in the first staff.
  6. Edit→Paste.
  7. Go to Edit→Voices→Exchange Voice 1-2.
  8. If you don't need the second staff, go to Edit→Instruments (Create→Instruments in MuseScore 1.x), select the second instrument and press Delete.
