will MuseScore accept scanned sheet music input?
Will this software allow me to input scanned (tiff, jpg etc. files) trombone parts as input, then let me transpose the input parts into different keys, and then save the transposed parts as files for printing?

No MuseScore is not an OMR program. See OMR on wikipedia . The only free one I know is Audiveris and it produces MusicXML. Be aware that OMR is a hard job and you need a very clean image to have correct results.
