Thanks for this very good bug report !

For the resolution, I wonder, should it be possible to create an empty tempo text in MuseScore? How do you delete it if you change your mind ?

I think if you leave the name empty, it should put the number?

That way, you know where it is - also so you can delete or amend it.

Right now when I place a Tempo text, I always append "(quarter note) = ###" to it. Allegro, Allegretto, Largo - they all are ranges of speed and hence very subjective. I play for a choir (and church) and like the fixed "note = ###" rather than the ambiguous tempo text notation. Therefore I would have both or the "note = ###" if the text was deleted.

(By the way, the trunk displays the tempo quarter note from 1.0 scores as a rectangle).

Fixed in the 0-9-6 branch in revision 4428 (trunk still todo).
Details: on MusicXML export the tempo text was exported with an empty words element. This was ignored on import. It now imports a tempo text with empty text, just like when importing .msc format.

Thanks Leon.

I still think though, that it should put some form of text as others have said (even if you don't want it, it could be marked invisible).
