Disallow adding key signature to non-pitch percussion
1. Create score featuring an instrument from non-pitch percussion.
2. Add a key signature to instrument, from the palette.
Expected result: Amending key signatures is disallowed for non-pitch instruments.
Actual result: I'm able to add a key signature.
Using MuseScore 1.0 and 2.0 Nightly Build (4531) - Windows XP SP3.
Comments
This might not be so simple if other instruments appear on the same staff, etc.
Yes, and I have had that come up: a drum part where I want the drummer to sing for a passage.
Although it can't be applied, the same may also apply for tablature (about stave sharing) - maybe not? I just want to perhaps rule it out, or whatever.
Also see this perhaps: #11540: Remove key signature step during score creation if only non-pitch and tablature instruments selected
There is no reason to disallow it. There is an option in staff type to hide key signature for a staff type. It's now on by default for percussion staff.
