Pause button is unnecessary and detrimental
- Open a score such as the demo
- Press play
- Press pause
Notice that the score cannot be fully edited in pause mode. This can cause confusion and sometimes lead to unnessary actions (such as quitting MuseScore or reloading the score).
Here are two suggestions for fixing this:
Suggestion 1: Remove the pause icon from the toolbar since the play button already offers the same functionality. Consider morphing the two buttons into one similar to many media players.
Suggestion 2: Allow note entry when playback is pause.

Pause button removed in r. 2057 per suggestion 1 above.
fixed a little bit more in r2058.
r2057 crashed on startup.
Sorry about that. I accidentally reverted mscore.cpp after I built it and before I committed the code.
Automatically closed -- issue fixed for 2 weeks with no activity.
Can we remove the Pause button altogether? It seems to serve no purpose.
chen lung, the pause button has been removed as stated above. Do you see a pause button in version 0.9.6?
Yes, here's a picture.
That's the repeats on/off button. Not a pauze button.
Thanks.
It looks misleading - could we turn it into a repeat sign (like the ones you get on a Hi-Fi?)?
