search function

There is a search function, but it always leads you to forum discussions, most of which are irrelevant to my question. Why can't there be a search function for the handbook itself, like in all other help programs? The table of contents is inadequate.

I just searched for "Voices". The second item returned was the Voices section in the Handbook. So as far as I can see, the Handbook is searchable. I haven't checked to see if Handbook results appear before Forum results, which would certainly be good.

Eameece, could you consider phrasing your complaints more positively? I usually find that people respond better that way. And it is much more helpful if you explain *why* or *in what way* the table of contents is inadequate. Just one example would make it much clearer what you mean.

I too would like to see a search while viewing the handbook to give higher weight to hits within the handbook. Apparently it does to some exent, but still, I agree it hits on forum postings more often than I'd expect. Ideally, I'd like to see results listed in two columns - one for hits within the handbook, on for hits elsewhere on the site. Similarly if you do a search while viewing any other major content area.

Meanwhile, though, doing a search within the local handbook as installed with MuseScore works well enough for simple searches - it,s just a basic text match within the PDF, not as sophisticated as the online search could potentially be.
