When changing a file in the demo folder i get the same bug. When i copy the score to the desktop, i can modify and save the file. I think there is a permission problem because i also cannot rename files in the demo folder whithout windows asking me (twice!) for confirmation.

"Save As" works but regular "Save" does not work for me on the desktop or anywhere else. When you were saving on the desktop maybe you used Save As?

I tried normal "save" on Windows Vista and it works without problems. The windows version was compiled with qt4.5.0.
The latest revision 1869 contains a change in handling the temporary file on save. Please try again with Xp.

I uninstalled 1833 and installed 1866 this afternoon on Vista, and whatever I tried (save new score, edit existing mscz, edit mxl file) I always get errors as mentioned in the original error report. So, I could reproduce it. And so could lasconic.

I tested 1869 on Windows XP and it appears to be fixed. Thanks Werner.
