Soundfonts on Debian-based OS

• Dec 20, 2012 - 23:07

I use #! and i noticed that although i could find templates and plugins inside the /share/ms score.2.8 or whatever folder, there isnt a sound folder. I was hoping to add a Marching Percussion soundfont, however, the folder is not there. Is it located somewhere else? Any help would be appreciated!

I use ubuntu 12.04 and MS 1.2 and 2.0. My soundfonts are in usr/local/share/mscore-2.0/sound and MuseScore/share/sound.

I'm not a CrunchBang expert but - since it is Deb-based - I suspect your soundfonts will be in a similar place. You could do a file search on your system:

find . -type f -name "*.sf2"

You don't really need to put the soundfont is a special place. Just put it somewhere on your disk and point MuseScore to it in Display -> Synthesizer -> Soundfont
