Sub-entries of instrument in Mixer don't appear in MusicXML
1. Create violin score.
2. 'Export...'.
3. Choose MusicXML.
4. 'OK'.
5. Open MusicXML.
6. 'Mixer'.
Result: The pizzicato and tremolo entries in the MuseScore file aren't in MusicXML.
Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (d98a3ee) - Mac 10.7.5.

In theory the MusicXML parsing engine should now read the MusicXML 3 sound tag and then pick up the instrument with this tag from the instrument list.
I'm not sure whether this has been implemented yet though.
The pizzicato and tremolo entries in the MuseScore file are actually separate instruments (using program numbers 45 and 44). This does not match with the MusicXML data model, which associates a single program number with a MIDI instrument. It seems this is not readily supported by MusicXML.
