Over-amplified playback using piano1.sf2 (regression)

  1. In the Preferences > I/O tab set the SoundFont to :/data/piano1.sf2 restart MuseScore if necessary
  2. Play demo file

Playback at the default levels is clipped (distorted).

Workaround: Drag a pianissimo (pp) dynamic marking to the beginning of the score.

(Tested using r.1959 self-built, Windows XP)

Status (old) active ⇒ fixed

In rev. 1969 i reduced the default reverb level which fixes the distortion.
The levels can be adjusted in the mixer.
