Automatically added symbols are too low and close to the staff

When adding things like fermatas, trill symbols, and so forth, the symbols are rather close to the staff itself, and often intersects with notes and other things. By automatically adding, I mean clicking on a note, then double clicking on the symbol you want inserted on that note.
