I think this is a legitimate feature request. I have often complained about the way the music jumps around the screen while you are entering a score with little success in anything being done about it. I think a button to freeze the current screen would be a great idea, but I suspect it would be harder to implement than actually keeping musescore from recalculating every page every time there is a change to the current screen. In fact, I have heard that musescore 3.0 will no longer recalculate every page with each change. This should make the wild jumping far less common. Unfortunately MuseScore 3.0 is not being released any time soon.
