text box alignment glitch : text doesn't stay aligned after modification

• Jan 31, 2020 - 21:54

Hello,
OS: macOS 10.14, Arch.: x86_64,
MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.4.1.25011, revision: 20414b2

here what happens:
1) In a score I insert a text box. Default is left aligned
2) I write some text
3) open the inspector and change the alignment to centered
__ no "save" button, so I presume it's automatically set and saved__
4) when I click on the score, the text returns left aligned.

To save the text position I have to issue a File/Save command (or cmd-S) while still in the inspector.

Not a bug per se, but to me the expected behaviour is that once made, the modifications stay when editing other parts of the score (text color e.g. works this way)

Comments

Modification made in the inspector are not functional when in text edit mode, but only stick when the element is selected and not in edit mode.
There is work ongoing to redesign the usability of the Inspector, which would also ensure correct behavior in this case, but it is still in the early stages (meaning the concept is being conceived, no implementation work has been done).
