No sound unless I put everything to "Solo" in the mixer.
Basically, the title explains everything.
I'm working on a score where no sound comes out unless I turn on the Solo buttons on the mixer.
When an instrument is not in Solo, I can hear the notes when I select them as well as when writing. But when I press Play, only the cursor moves.
Sound works fine with other scores, though.
I don't know if this is relevant, but all the notes appear with the "Velocity Type" at "Offset", and the "Velocity" at "0"

Those velocity settings are normal and the default, meaning no offset from whatever the dynamics ask for, mf (80) otherwise.
Please share that score.
I see in the past you posted about SFZ, is this happening with using SFZ soundfonts?

Well, I havent used third-party soundfonts for this score (as far as I remember), but I've used the synthesizer sometimes. I remember using the "Set as default" option at least twice, I don't know if this is relevant.
Here's a duplicate of the score, still the same problem.

It seems to occur with the imported mxl file. What is the origin source of the file?
If I deselect the solo inside the mixer and rechange the instrument for each staff via right click->staff properties... it seems to work.

I don't know what you mean by the "origin source". I'm writing this piece, it's not something I found anywhere.
I'm going to try rechanging the instruments as you said.
In reply to I don't know what you mean… by Kai Vinter
The original format is a mxl file and not a mszc file=MuseScore format.
Attached I rechanged the instrument for a few staves, not for all. Does it sound for you?

Hmm... That's weird. Maybe I exported it once as an mxl and imported again, then I started editing it from there. I'm not sure.
This version you sent me seems to be the same, no sound. But if I rechange the instruments myself they work.

It seems to work. Thank you!
Although, I don't know how to reproduce the "problem". But that seems to fix it.

Wait! That fixes it temporarily. As soon as I put an instrument in Solo again, the problem comes back.

I might try creating a new score and just copy the items.
Now I remember. I was writing this on Sibelius, then I exported the file as an MXL in order to import it to MuseScore.
This might be a compatibility problem with MXL format (not sure, though).
But previously there wasn't anything like this.

Now, it also happens when closing and opening the file again. Not doubt why there was no sound with the second score you sent me

I think I figured it out. The reason was the pizzicato harp channel, it was select as solo.

-.-
For real? Hahaha. I don't know how I couldn't figure that out. I should have checked those right arrows.
Anyways, thank you!
Based on the title alone, the most likely explanation is that one staff was already set to Solo, that's why you couldn't hear anything else. If that one staff had rests only, that would explain why it created the illusion of no sound at all.
Try turning solo off for all instruments and I think you'll find all is well. If not, please attach the score once you get it to that point.

I thought that at first. But unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case.
I attached a copy of the score in my reply to Jojo-Schmitz's comment.
