Ordering of Instruments

In the "add instruments" mode, I've noticed that the "custom" feature still does not allow me to move an instrument up or down. In previous versions I could move any instrument where I wanted it. Is this going to be fixed? I would like the ability to place an instrument where I need it to be.

Here's why: The instrument selector does not provide a trumpet in C. to get a trumpet in C, the easiest way is to choose an instrument (flute) that is already in C, then change the instrument to a trumpet in mixer mode. This works well for me, as I often have multiple instruments that are written in keys other than the composition's overall Key. Horns are often in different keys (F, for example), but not always.

But when I chose a flute in place of a C trumpet, MS does not allow me to move the flute down to the trumpet position. Also, the transposition feature in staff edit mode does not make any sense whatsoever. When I try to transpose an instrument down a major 2nd, for example, it moves it up a perfect 5th. This feature doesn't seem to work.

When doing orchestrations, these features need to be more flexible, and make sense.

As noted above, the buttons have simply moved.

But, it's not true there is no trumpet in C, there is - just not part of the "common instruments" subset shown by default. Just type "trumpet" into the search box and you'll see all the other options that are provided. Ditto with horns in various keys - lots of options available if you use the search box. Or just change to "All" instead of "Common" instruments in the dropdown menu at top of the dialog.

Not sure what you mean about transposition not working, mu guess is there is some misunderstanding as it definitely works in all my scores. But feel free to attach a score and explain what you are doing in more detail, then we can understand and assist better.
