Display pre-existing tempo markings
Can MuseScore be configured to display the tempo marks that are already in a file (e.g., a Music XML file) as opposed to having to add tempo marks manually?

If the MusicXML file contains valid tempo markings, they should already displayed. Do you have an example where this doesn't happen? Using MuseScore 1.3, or 2.0 Beta 1?
