How to use Soundfonts
Hey everyone.
I want to use a new soundfont for MuseScore because I want a better sound out of the instruments during playback. I have read on how to add soundfonts but it makes no sense to me. Can anybody help me?

Can you explain which step of the instructions in the Handbook you are having trouble with? How far have you got so so far? Did you find and download one you like?

I have gotten as far as downloading a soundfont. I have found one I would like to download.

What about double-clicking the downloaded soundfont or copying it into your soundfonts directory doesn't make sense to you?

I've just copied the soundfont into the specified folder. I went into view then synthesiser but the soundfont didn't appear.

Is it really a (Fluid) soundfont, extension .sf2 or .sf3?

After that you'd need to tell the synthesizer to use it too, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/synthesizer#load-soundfont
