Can you describe what this is supposed to be? Are those noted with triangular noteheads? If so, see the noteheads palette. Unless it's percussion, in which case, see the Handbook section on drum notation to understand how to customize your drumset definition to include whatever noteheads you want automatically.
If that's not it, then again, please explain in more detail. And probably better to find an example of what you are talking about in published music and post a picture of that so we can understand better.
They fall a lot less apart if you anchor them correctly ;-)
Make sure to anchor the end point of a 45° pedal line on the start of the next one to have them auto-connect.
Then see the link on applying lines above and as mentioned in the previous comment, make sure to include the starting point of the next in the range selection as the endpoint of the previous one.

I'm sure they would if I was attempting to insert valid pedal lines but I only used them to mock up what I perceived to be triangular noteheads or some sort of percussion marking.

Does https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/lines help you out?

I assumed them to be 45° angled pedal lines.

Interesting (ab)use of lines. Unfortunately they fall apart if the score stretches/relayouts.

They are connected pedals, not that. You know like:
