Rests being placed after placing a note
so I'm trying to compose a song that has multiple instruments playing at once, but every time I place down a note, all of the notes from the first instrument get pushed forwards so they aren't playing at the same time, I really need some help
EDIT: I also cant delete them for some reason too

You have possibly entered insert mode of note entry. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/note-input for more information on that and note entry in general.
Another possibility is that you need to use voices See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/voices for more information in how that works.
If neither of those are helpful, please come back and attach the score (.mscz file) you are having difficulty with and explain in more detail what you are trying to do.
