it looks like there is a lot of improvement from version 3. however, when adding ties between two voices, they don't go to their optimal place.
for example, when you create 2 voices and make the notes crowded enough (like in the file I provided, ties with 2 voices.mscz ), the ties would stay in their "default" position and not go to a better place that won't collide with noteheads, accidentals, ledger lines, etc. when possible.?
it is possible to work around this manually, but I think it would be preferable if Musescore knew to identify the optimal placement automatically

steps to reproduce:
1. create two voices and place some notes (the issue is more visible when the notes are crowded)
2. continue with a chord containing all the notes you placed beforehand
3. connect all the notes with a tie and see that sometimes the ties will collide unnecessarily with other elements
